RCB in the IPL Final

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Reach IPL Final

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have reached the Indian Premier League (IPL) final by defeating Punjab Kings by 8 wickets. Chasing a target of 102 runs, RCB achieved it in 10.2 overs, losing just 2 wickets.

Opener Phil Salt remained unbeaten on 56 runs off 27 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Mayank Agarwal scored 19 runs.

Captain Rajat Patidar remained unbeaten on 15 runs, and Virat Kohli scored 12 runs. On the bowling side, Kyle Jamieson and Musheer Khan took one wicket each.

Earlier, at the Maharaja Yodhha Bhindranwale International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, RCB won the toss and elected to field first in the first qualifier.

Punjab Kings had a disappointing batting performance. They were bowled out for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs of the scheduled 20 overs.

None of Punjab’s batsmen could hold their ground against the RCB bowlers. There was neither any meaningful partnership nor any player who could anchor the innings.

Marcus Stoinis scored the highest for Punjab with 26 runs, while Prabhsimran Singh and Azmatullah Omarzai contributed 18 runs each. Apart from these three, no other batsman reached double figures. Punjab also received 11 runs as extras.

In bowling, RCB delivered a spectacular performance, with Suyash Sharma bowling the most economical spell—taking 3 wickets for just 17 runs in 3 overs.

Josh Hazlewood also took 3 wickets, conceding 21 runs in 3 overs and 1 ball. Yash Dayal picked up 2 wickets.

Punjab will get another chance to reach the final. They will play the second qualifier against the winner of the eliminator. The eliminator, scheduled for Friday, will feature Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians.
