Rain played spoilsport in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals.
The IPL match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad was abandoned due to rain.
Hyderabad was given a modest target of just 134 runs for victory, but rain prevented them from even starting their innings. As a result, both teams shared one point each.
Earlier, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Delhi Capitals managed to score only 133 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Delhi had a disastrous start, losing 4 wickets for just 26 runs by the end of the powerplay.
Sunrisers’ bowler Pat Cummins was exceptional with the ball, taking early wickets. He dismissed Karun Nair for a duck, Faf du Plessis for 3, and Abishek Porel for 8 runs.
Captain Axar Patel (6) and KL Rahul (10) also fell cheaply, and Delhi was struggling at just 29 runs with 6 wickets down. Later, Vipraj Nigam was run out after scoring 18.
However, Tristan Stubbs (41 not out) and Ashutosh Sharma (41) provided some resistance and helped Delhi avoid complete collapse.
Cummins finished with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs.
With this result, Delhi now sits fifth in the points table with 11 points, while Hyderabad has climbed to eighth with 7 points.
