Chennai suffer defeat against Rajasthan


Rajasthan Royals defeat Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets in IPL

In an Indian Premier League match today, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets.

Chasing a target of 188 runs, Rajasthan reached the total in 17.1 overs with 4 wickets down.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a quick 36 runs off 19 balls, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes before getting out. A strong 98-run partnership followed between Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Sanju Samson.

Sanju Samson contributed 41 runs, while Vaibhav scored an unbeaten 57 off 33 balls with 4 fours, playing the highest-scoring innings for Rajasthan.

Later, Dhruv Jurel remained not out on 31, and Simron Hetmyer was unbeaten on 12, guiding Rajasthan to a comfortable win. For Chennai, Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets.

Earlier at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rajasthan won the toss and chose to field first. Chennai posted 187 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.

Devon Conway and Urvil Patel fell cheaply for 10 runs and no runs respectively, leaving Chennai at 12 runs early on. Ayush Mahatre and Ravichandran Ashwin steadied the innings with a 56-run partnership.

Ayush scored 43 runs off 20 balls with 8 fours and 1 six, while Dwaine Pretorius contributed 42 off 25 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Shivam Dube scored 39, and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni added 16 runs.

On the bowling front, Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh took 3 wickets each.

Rajasthan, already out of the tournament race, earned 8 points with this win. Chennai remains at the bottom of the table with 6 points, positioned last in the league standings while Rajasthan sits ninth.
