Chennai Super Kings Secure Comfortable Victory Over Gujarat Titans

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings registered a dominant win over Gujarat Titans.

In the first match of the day held at Gujarat’s home ground, Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Chennai triumphed by 83 runs.

Chasing a massive target of 231 runs, Gujarat was bowled out for 147 in 18.3 overs. Opener Sai Sudharsan top-scored for Gujarat with 41 runs off 28 balls, hitting 6 fours.

Shahrukh Khan scored 19 runs off 15 balls, captain Shubman Gill managed 13, and Rashid Khan contributed 12. Rahul Tewatia and Arshad Khan added 14 and 20 runs respectively before getting out.

For Chennai, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad picked up 3 wickets each, Ravindra Jadeja took 2, while Matheesha Pathirana and Khaleel Ahmed claimed 1 wicket apiece.

Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Chennai posted a massive total of 230 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Dewald Brevis and Devon Conway both scored half-centuries for Chennai. Brevis smashed 57 runs off just 23 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes, while Conway added 52 runs from 35 balls with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Urvil Patel chipped in with 37 runs off 19 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Ayush Mehret scored 34 runs off 17 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes. Shivam Dube added 17 runs off 8 balls, and Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 21 off 18 balls with 1 four and 1 six.

Chennai Ends Season on High; Gujarat Misses Top Spot

For Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets, while Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, and Shahrukh Khan each claimed 1 wicket.

Despite a strong campaign, Gujarat failed to secure a spot in the first qualifier by missing out on finishing at the top of the league stage standings.

With this win, Chennai Super Kings ended their season on a positive note, though they remain at the bottom of the league table.

Later today, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in a match scheduled to begin at 7:45 PM.
