RCB defeated with SRH



On Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were defeated.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, already eliminated from the playoffs, beat RCB by 42 runs.

Chasing a massive target of 232 runs, RCB were bowled out for just 189 runs in 19.5 overs.

Earlier, RCB’s openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli put on a solid 80-run partnership for the first wicket.

Salt scored a half-century, making 62 runs off 32 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes. Kohli contributed 43 runs off 25 balls with 7 fours and 1 six.

Jitesh Sharma scored 24, Rajat Patidar made 18, and Mayank Agarwal added 11 runs, but no other batsman reached double figures.

For Hyderabad, captain Pat Cummins took 3 wickets, while Ishan Malinga claimed 2 wickets.

Earlier, RCB won the toss and chose to field first. Hyderabad scored 232 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

Ishan Kishan played a brilliant innings for the team. Batting at number three, he remained unbeaten on 94 runs off 48 balls, hitting 7 fours and 5 sixes.

Abhishek Sharma contributed 34 runs, while Aniket Barma added 35. Heinrich Klaasen also chipped in with 24 runs.

For RCB, Romario Shepherd took 2 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, and Suyash Sharma took one wicket each.

This result was a setback to RCB’s plan to directly qualify for the first qualifier. RCB currently sit third with 17 points. Punjab Kings are second with the same points, and Gujarat Titans lead the table with 18 points.
