Sunrisers Hyderabad make a winning start in the IPL.
At the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad today, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs.
Chasing a target of 287, Rajasthan managed to score 242/6 in 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson both scored half-centuries for the team.
Jurel was the top scorer with 70 runs off 35 balls, hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes. Samson contributed 66 runs off 37 balls, smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes.
Shimron Hetmyer scored 42, Shubham Dubey added 34, and Nitish Rana made 11, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to deliver.
For Hyderabad, Simarjeet Singh and Harshal Patel took 2 wickets each, while Mohammad Shami and Adam Zampa picked up 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Rajasthan had won the toss and opted to field first.

Kishan reached his century in just 45 balls, finishing with 106* off 47 deliveries, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes.
Opener Travis Head also played an aggressive knock, scoring 67 off 31 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Abhishek Sharma contributed 24, Nitish Kumar Reddy added 30, and Heinrich Klaasen chipped in with 34 runs.
For Rajasthan, Tushar Deshpande took 3 wickets, Mahesh Theekshana grabbed 2, and Sandeep Sharma picked up 1 wicket.
