In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs.
Chasing a target of 206 runs, Rajasthan were bowled out for 194 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets.
Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryawanshi shared a 52-run partnership for the first wicket. Vaibhav got out after scoring 16 runs. After that, Yashasvi narrowly missed his half-century, getting dismissed for 49 runs off 19 balls, including 7 fours and 3 sixes, by Josh Hazlewood.
Following their dismissals, Rajasthan failed to build a strong partnership to put pressure on RCB. Captain Riyan Parag was out for 22 runs, Nitish Rana scored 28 runs, and Shimron Hetmyer managed only 12 runs.
Later, Dhruv Jurel scored 47 runs before getting out, and Rajasthan finished at 194 runs.
In bowling, Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets, conceding 33 runs in his 4 overs. Krunal Pandya picked up 2 wickets as well.
rlier, Rajasthan won the toss and opted to field first, sending RCB in to bat. RCB posted a total of 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs.
Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli shared a 61-run partnership for the first wicket. The duo scored 59 runs during the powerplay. Salt was dismissed for 26 runs.
After that, Devdutt Padikkal joined Virat to form a brilliant 95-run partnership for the third wicket. During this stand, both batters completed their half-centuries.
Virat played a superb knock, scoring 70 runs off 42 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Devdutt made 50 runs off just 27 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Team David added 23 runs, while Jitesh Sharma remained unbeaten on 20 runs.
In bowling, Sandeep Sharma took 2 wickets, while Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 1 wicket each.
With this victory, RCB climbed to third place on the points table with 12 points, while Rajasthan remains with only 4 points.
