Punjab's defeat against RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in today's IPL match. Interestingly, just two days ago, Punjab had beaten RCB.
Chasing a target of 158 runs, RCB secured the win with 7 balls to spare, losing only 3 wickets in the process.
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal both scored half-centuries. Kohli remained unbeaten with 74 runs, while Padikkal contributed 61 runs.
Earlier, RCB had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, Punjab scored 157 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Prabhsimran Singh top-scored with 33 runs, while Shashank Singh remained not out on 31. Josh Inglis made 29, and Prabhsimran Arya added 22 runs. Marco Jansen also remained unbeaten with 25 runs. However, no Punjab batter was able to play a big innings.
In bowling, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma took 2 wickets each.
With this win, RCB climbed to third place on the points table with 10 points, while Punjab, also on 10 points, slipped down to fourth.
