Mumbai ends Delhi's unbeaten run.


Mumbai Indians have put an end to Delhi Capitals' unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mumbai defeated Delhi by 12 runs, marking their second win of the season. Chasing a target of 206 runs, Mumbai were bowled out for just 193 in 19 overs.

Delhi suffered their first loss of the ongoing IPL season after losing their final three wickets to run-outs in a single over.

Despite losing their first wicket without scoring, Abishek Porel and Karun Nair built a strong 119-run partnership for the second wicket, putting Delhi in a commanding position. However, the remaining batters failed to carry the momentum forward.

Nair played a crucial innings of 89 runs off 40 balls, smashing 12 fours and 5 sixes. Porel supported him with 32 runs from 25 balls, including 3 fours and 1 six.

KL Rahul scored 15, Ashutosh Sharma made 17, and Vipraj Nigam added 14 runs before getting out. The remaining batters couldn’t reach double digits.

For Mumbai, Karan Sharma took 3 wickets, Mitchell Santner claimed 2, while Deepak Chahar and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket each.

Earlier, at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi won the toss and chose to field. Mumbai posted a total of 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Opener Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 18 with the team score at 47. The other opener, Ryan Rickelton, returned to the pavilion after scoring 41.

After that, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma built a 60-run partnership for the third wicket. Suryakumar was dismissed after scoring 40 runs, while Hardik Pandya managed just 2 runs.

Tilak, however, completed his half-century, playing a fine knock of 59 runs off 33 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 38 runs off just 17 deliveries.

In the bowling department, Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each, while Mahesh Kumar claimed one.

With 8 points from 5 matches, Delhi dropped to second place on the points table. Mumbai, on the other hand, climbed to seventh with 4 points from 6 games.
