Gujarat's victory over Bengaluru.


Gujarat Titans have defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Gujarat secured an 8-wicket victory over Bengaluru at their home ground on Wednesday. Chasing a target of 170 runs set by Bengaluru, Gujarat successfully reached the total in 17.5 overs, losing just 2 wickets.

Jos Buttler played a crucial role in Gujarat’s consecutive second win, remaining unbeaten with a top score of 73 runs. He faced 39 balls, hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes.

For the third wicket, Buttler formed a match-winning partnership of 63 runs with Sherfane Rutherford. Rutherford remained not out on 30 runs off 18 balls, striking 1 four and 3 sixes.

Additionally, Buttler shared a 75-run partnership for the second wicket with Sai Sudharsan. The opener Sudharsan scored 49 runs off 36 balls, hitting 7 fours and 1 six before getting out.

Another opener and Gujarat captain, Shubman Gill, contributed 14 runs off 14 balls. For Bengaluru, Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket each.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first at the M. Chinnaswamy International Cricket Stadium, the home team, Bengaluru, managed to post 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

For Bengaluru, Liam Livingstone was the top scorer with 54 runs off 40 balls, hitting 1 four and 5 sixes. Jitesh Sharma contributed 33 runs off 21 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six.

Tim David added 32 runs off 18 balls, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes before getting out. Opener Phil Salt scored 14 runs off 13 balls, with 1 four and 1 six.

Captain Rajat Patidar managed 12 runs off 12 balls, while Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli were dismissed for 5 and 7 runs, respectively.

For Gujarat, Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets, Sai Kishore grabbed 2, while Prasidh Krishna, Arshad Khan, and Ishant Sharma picked up 1 wicket each.

With 2 wins and 1 loss in 3 matches, Gujarat remains in the fourth position on the points table. They lost their opening game against Punjab Kings but bounced back with victories against Mumbai Indians and Bengaluru.

After facing their first defeat of the season, Bengaluru now sits in third place with 4 points. They had won their first match against Kolkata and created history by defeating Chennai at Chepauk after 17 years in their second game.
