Chennai secured their second victory in the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets with 3 balls to spare in the Indian Premier League (IPL) today. After five consecutive losses, this marked Chennai's first win.
Chasing a target of 167 runs, Chennai reached the mark in 19.3 overs, losing 5 wickets along the way.
Sheikh Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra provided a solid start with a 52-run partnership for the first wicket. Sheikh was dismissed for 27, while Rachin scored 37 before getting out. Soon after, Rahul Tripathi fell for 9, Ravindra Jadeja for 7, and Vijay Shankar for 9, leaving Chennai at 111/5.
From there, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni guided Chennai to victory with an unbeaten 67-run partnership for the sixth wicket.
Shivam played a steady knock of 43* off 37 balls, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Captain MS Dhoni added a quickfire 26* from just 11 balls, smashing 4 fours and a six.
In bowling, Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 wickets, while Digvijay Rathi, Avesh Khan, and Aiden Markram took one wicket each.
Earlier, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Chennai won the toss and chose to field first.
Lucknow's openers Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran were dismissed early for 6 and 8 runs respectively, with the team at 23/2. Mitchell Marsh added 30 runs before getting out as the third wicket. No big partnerships were formed throughout the innings.
Captain Rishabh Pant was the top scorer with 63 runs, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes in his 49-ball innings. Ayush Badoni contributed 22 runs, while Abdul Samad added 20.
In bowling, Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmad took 2 wickets each.
After five consecutive losses, Chennai finally secured their first win of the season, earning 4 points, but they still remain at the bottom of the table. With 8 points from 7 matches, Lucknow is currently in fourth place. This was Lucknow’s third defeat of the season.
