"Chennai lost to Hyderabad."

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), before Friday’s results, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in a clash between two bottom-placed teams.

Chasing a target of 155 runs, Hyderabad secured the victory with 8 balls to spare.

The team's batters put in a collective performance. Ishan Kishan scored 44 runs off 34 balls, hitting 5 fours and 1 six.

Kamindu Mendis contributed 32 runs, while Travis Head, Aniket Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy each scored 19 runs. For Chennai, Noor Ahmad picked up 2 wickets, while Khalid Azmat, Anshul Kamboj, and Ravindra Jadeja each took 1 wicket.

Earlier, Sunrisers had won the toss and elected to field first. Chennai were bowled out for 154 runs in 19.5 overs.

Chennai put on a disappointing batting performance. They managed 50 runs in the first powerplay but had already lost 3 wickets. Opener Sheikh Rasid was dismissed for a golden duck, Sam Curran fell for 9 runs, and the other opener, Ayush Mahatre, was out for 30 runs.

After the weak start, Chennai’s middle order couldn’t rescue the innings either. They failed to build any big partnerships, and wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

Dewald Brevis top-scored for the team with 42 runs off 25 balls, hitting 1 four and 4 sixes. Deepak Hooda scored 22 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja added 21 runs.

In bowling, Harshal Patel was the hero, taking 4 wickets while conceding just 28 runs in his 4 overs. Pat Cummins also picked up 2 wickets.

With this win, Hyderabad climbed to eighth place on the points table with 6 points, while Chennai remained at the bottom with just 4 points.
